Rick Owens answers questions on queer culture, punk gigs and sex clubs | i-D Asks
i-D asked iconic fashion designer Rick Owens to answer an array of weird and wonderful questions sent from his friends, family and peers including Sissy Misfit, Kris Van Assche, Stephen Jones, Gwendoline Christie, Ludovic de Saint Sernin and more.
Covering everything from queer history, sex clubs and his favourite films (you’d be surprised!) to life with muse-slash-partner Michèle Lamy and his new Dr. Martens collab, the Californian provocateur gives us a rare insight into his psyche.

Nice

Culture appropriation is not a new concept, nor specific to the US. The term is relatively new, but not the concept. People of the states, yes including black people, love to share our culture. However, no group of people likes culture appropriation. Often there are misconceptions about it because of those that misinform the meaning leading people to believe it either doesn't exist or that it's cultural exchange. They are two different concepts. Culture appropriation is the inappropriate, ignorant, or disrespectful adaptation of a culture. If you were to portray a fraudulent performance of what you take them for, or mock them and their experiences by using something they hold dear such as a hairstyle, then it would be culture appropriation. As well as an uneducated representation of another culture to which one may also make fictitious, sometimes personal, claims. Especially to then be dismissive of the very same people you appropriated. It is not simply wearing something. Be yourself, be respectful, educate yourself, and embrace other cultures.
She is so talented and gifted. She is so beautiful inside and outside. Hope life travels her nice! she deserves this. she made this world more beautiful with her talent and songs

I feel constantly unsafe as a nit I’ve girl. I catch old men looking at me smiling it makes me so uncomfortable like an object . Like they only see a brown skinned little girl like me to take advantage of and leave without another thought. I feel helpless. I feel the only thing I can do now is keep my culture alive and pass it down so it is never forgotten. We native women and girls are powerful and have a vaoice, our energy is strong and even the worst people out there can not take that away from us I AM STILL HERE ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Hi I’m part of the indigenous community but I don’t know which nation I’m from. My family does not know much Esther and I just wish I knew more of who i am. I wish I grew up with this but for my family my culture has been sort of forgotten. I’m working to make that stop. I think I will ask my grandmas she knows who we are but I never get the time to ask her. But I’m still here ✊🏽and I WILL keep my culture alive!
🤣🤣🌹🌺🌻💐🏃♀️🏃♂️💙💖💕💓💞💝💗👏👏
Ahhhhhhh
I like that they look weird. Weird suits them. They look bad in a good way or good in a bad way.
"I would be the head gardener at the Vatican" That is such a specific and interesting response, it like he's thought that question very thoroughly, yet awnsered it at a moments notice. You can tell he thinks a bout a lot of things. no other way to describe it.
I. Om namah shivaya A ok. ❤sara
Beautiful and perfect musically
Trying to look like a walking filter everyday is ruining natural beauty to the point you look weird in person and on camera 🤪
😂 the way she responds
Lilli what would ur dad do to Leonardo DiCaprio if he hit u up in the DMs? IM JUST ASKING 😑

She looks gorgeous, her face is beautiful but don’t forget the makeup used to match the tone of the suit, but has no one noticed that a small bag sticks out between her legs and is it not a fault of the suit?
“I don’t think people work well under stressful situations, I learned that from my dad.” Famously chill man, Francis Ford Coppola
Home alone trying not to eat
this is an example of how younger generations just dont get it.... can't wait till this one starts reproducing.

I think you should talk to black braziliams from Bahia. That is the real Africa in Brasil.
They dont call you pardo or black depending on the beauty, ( that clearly shows how the twin girls rhink white is more beautiful) they call you black based on the darkeness of skin colour, because in Brasil there is no one drop rule. If you are brown, you are not con sidered black. But you can indentify as one if you want to. People will call you pardo (mix), and doesnt matter for them if is mix with black, indigenous etc.
OMG I USED TO HAVE A CRUSH ON THE 1ST GUY
😭
I honestly have this bond with myself lolz.... They're cute and that's crazy. I'm Haitian and Jamaican
I love how she shows more personality in interviews, she’s more extrovert than I thought! :)
Totally awesome! Sometimes it's courageous to break out of fashion norms. For younger people it may be a bit easier, even with, at times, severe push-back from peers and authoritarian adults. Getting older, social norms become even more constrained and conservative, so expressing oneself in unorthodox fashion styles can be very difficult - but it's still better to be free in this way.
Just change that f... haircut.

Wise words from Stormzy. I'm not even a celebrity and found the increasing negativity and pushing of divisive content by the algorithms, too much. I left Twitter, Facebook and even Mastodon, which while it doesn't have algotrithms, is still strictly policed by sanctimonious arseholes. It was liberating to walk away from all that and I feel much better for it. Still here on UA-cam, obviously, but only because I'm thinking of monetizing a channel.
These people were wrong to have that riot , don't they respect law and order ?
they are so iconic
Her voice is so pleasing to hear
Beabadoobee beabaodkaabd beaboebabeoa
She deserves better than the Idol. The whole scene with the dance, her crying, calling out for her mom shows how much potential she has to get an amazing role. The Idol fed off her body and she doesn't realize that.
Beautiful song and beautiful voice
You guys are fake twins
how wtf lol
Have you seen them before ? On bad girls club? They look the exact same they are 100% twins
@@ellavonk9289hes trolling .
